In order to be part of MISSION MAUSAM- EMPOWERING INDIA’S WEALTH & CLIMATE RESILIENCE of Ministry of Earth Science, Govt. of India, Vishveshwarya Group of institutions signed LoI with Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology of Ministry of Earth Science, Govt. of India for Installation of Compact AWS- Censor for Weather Prediction.
The objective is to strengthen ground-based weather monitoring for disaster management, early warning systems, and climate resilience, particularly for urban areas like Delhi which face challenges from extreme weather events. a flagship programme of the Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES), Government of India. This mission is being jointly implemented by the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology, Pune (IITM - Pune), India Meteorological Department (IMD) and National Centre for Medium Range Weather Forecasting (NCMRWF - Noida).
