At 𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐡𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐲𝐚 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩 𝐨𝐟 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬, we proudly marked 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐅𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐃𝐚𝐲 with a vibrant celebration led by our 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧- 𝐌𝐫. 𝐒𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐥 𝐉𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐥, 𝐂𝐎𝐎- 𝐃𝐫. 𝐏𝐨𝐨𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐦𝐚 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐚, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐨𝐫 & 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐜𝐬- 𝐃𝐫. 𝐒.𝐏. 𝐏𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐲. Our dedicated Agricultural Sciences students engaged the community in meaningful discussions about 𝐟𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐡𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐳𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐧𝐮𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐢𝐬 𝐚 𝐟𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚𝐥𝐥.
This year’s theme highlights the pressing need for sustainable food practices, especially as many countries still face 𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐬. With India achieving record grain production in 2023, we reflected on our journey towards food security and the pivotal role of 𝐚𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐬𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐬 in this success.
𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐜 𝐟𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 and the importance of mindful 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐦𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐬 to avoid food waste and cultivate healthier options. Together, we’re advocating for a future where everyone has access to 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡𝐲, 𝐬𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐨𝐝—𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐚𝐭 𝐚 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞!
