Inspiration Power
Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya, born on 28th August, 1860 in the village of Muddenahalli of Chikballapur Taluk, Kolar district in Karnataka (former Mysore) completed his lower secondary course at Chikballapur itself. Post completing his high school with flying colors, Vishveshwarya took admission in the central college of engineering. His first-class grades helped him grab the job of an Assistant Engineer in the Bombay Government Services. He proved his excellence and eminence when he was challenged to construct SYPHON on the river Panjra at Dashari village situated at a distance of 35 miles from Dhulia. His unprecedented spirit of inventiveness and expertise inspired us to build a world-class technical institute that is determined to provide India such skillful engineers, pharmacists and management graduates.
Dr. M. Visvesvaraya, who was a distinguished statesman, an administrator and an acclaimed engineer, was awarded the most prestigious award of the country, Bharat Ratna in the year 1955. He served the Institution of Engineers of India as their Honorary Life Fellow. Moreover, his birthday, 15th September is observed as the ‘Engineer’s Day’ worldwide. His dedication and commitment inspired us and we formed VGI, Vishveshwarya Group of Institutions in the year 2000.
Named after the prodigious engineer and inventor, Vishveshwarya Group of Institutions is not mere hall of residence, instead is native to wizards who aspire to live, study and socialize with difference. This vivacious spirit of liveliness, enthusiasm and élan is inculcated in the students by our Institution's community including graduates, post graduates, research students, Professors and Faculties.
